I have a 4 year old altec ipod speakerBook pro and this is the 3rd battery I have had to replace due to it "bubbling" after 1 yr of use. 129.00 is way to much for a battery that has an 18 month lifespan. I have replaced 3 batteries in my sons altec ipod speakerBook pro also. I love my altec ipod speaker, but this is ridiculous they should at least make it 3-5 years before they quite literally blow-up.
Easy set-up and its great to be able to move the wireless keyboard and mouse out of reach of our 2 year-old. Sound is much better than I'd expected and the screen feels spacious.Only concern with the system is a yellow tint that gradually increases towards the bottom of the screen. No one else seems to notice/care, but as a photographer, I notice shifts in white balance. I see a similar pattern in most of the 21.5" ialtec ipod speakers I've seen in stores, so it may just be normal.
The 2nd gen shuffle is everything it should be and nothing more. It's perfectly small and portable, has enough space for a good playlist, and the button configuration is just right. There is a reason Apple went back to this design after toying with the button-less tiny shuffle.
