How do i fix my apple case apple case macbookbook headphone jack without replacing it?

my apple case apple case macbookbook (30gb 5th gen) has only one headphone working and i want both to work but i dont want to replace it. how can i fix it by doing it myself? The problem is whether the speaker quit or a loose wire developed their probably isnt much you can do other than splicing a good speaker in place of the bad one, or replacing the jack plug if that is the problem, but that doesnt help unless u have one of those. Im not sure u can really do anything otherwise. Taking it apart to try and repair it is iff
