The adapter works fine when directly connected to a monitor. Loved the case. Exactly what I was looking for. Slim, flattering and really shows the iPhone 4 well. My only mistake was getting Piano Black. Finger Prints show so easily that you will be trying to clean the case every couple of seconds. Ended up using the Elago Soft Feel Black case instead and love it! There is nothing "automatic" about this battery and case - put your iPhone in and the battery remains on (and subsequently drains away quite quickly) even when the iphone is completely charged and not even on.
