The idea behind this lil' gadget is great. I got an Airport Express purely as a way to stream iTunes music across my living room from a Sony laptop to our stereo, and didn't really need any other features. Despite having all the latest downloads and updates, and replacing the unit, it never worked for more than 2 minutes without stuttering, intermittently losing connection, and then out-right failing, never again to be recognized without hard rebooting the Airport. I had the in-ear Bose headset before. When, in Bose fashion, those began to stop working I decided to try the Apple offering. I was extremely disappointed by the sound quality from this headset. The ipad 2 paul frank earbuds are better than these.Sure, the vocal quality is clear and almost perfect, but the music sounds weak and feeble. For this price range, I expect much more.
I bought this for my girlfriends townhouse (3 floors). Airport upstairs and wireless printer in the basement didn't work so well but I put this Express on the middle floor and now the printer works and the connections throughout the middle floor and basement are much better. It even works in the backyard, frontyard, and garage. This player is just what I was looking for. I like everything about it except, often I have to use the touch screen functions on the I touch instead of the remote. Once I use it more I may be more comfortable with the functions. Otherwise I would absolutely recommend it.
