This USB to ethernet adapter is expecially useful if the motherboard's onboard ethernet hardware no longer works or is limited to 100bps. Same for laptops. Cons: Not really a Con, but a driver is needed from the supplied disk for the OS to recognize this adapter. So connecting to a network after booting and without an OS is a limitation, unless there is the option to load the needed driver. I have successfully used this adapter on XP, 2003, Windows7 and WHS. Excellent product.
