My first Apple earphones were actually the ones from the box of my new ipad any bluetooth keyboard Touch a year ago....I used them for a year and 1 month until they break ---and that's a long life span for earphones! So now I'm back buying them again. Think about it, they are overpriced but they last. If you buy $10 earphones but they break every 3 months (I have past experiences...), that's like buying 4 times a year and spending at least $40...even more than one of these Apple earphones alone!

The adapter does what it says, but it makes it sound as if it were VGA output for **anything** being displayed by the iPad.Instead, it is limited to the apps that allow video output and the ones that Apple provide.The reason it is misleading is because these limitations are not listed in the product description--not even as a note.In my opinion, save $29 and move on.

I'm very gentle on my electronics and gadgets, but the remote on this earphone shorted out only after a few uses. The sound cuts in and out randomly and volume control doesn't work. I received this item from xpit (an amazon partner). I'm avoiding them next time.

B&H has a better price on this than anywhere else on the web.

1. The track ball is unreliable. Sometimes it 360's, sometimes it only goes up or to the side. Often it just sticks.2. The design is cool but way to slippery. There is no place where you can get a grip on the thing. 3. Apple is down right "snarky" about this product. They won't refund money.4. The software to control/customize it is very difficult to use and not intuitive.

Probably only 3-star satisfaction, but I'm giving it the extra one since I should have done my homework a little better. It mounts on my windshield securely, but I have the choice of either having my iPhone too far away to be useful or using the included extra connector link to extend it to a usable distance. With the extension piece there is an annoying jiggle when the car is moving. To be fair, I have not tried the dash mount option since I've had bad experience in the past with things "glued"
