How do I transfer purchased material from my ipod car stereo to my Itunes Library?

Can I just hit sync, I;m too afraid to try it because I;m afraid I;ll lose all the music I bought on my ipod car stereo that isn;t in my library. Go iTunes menu, clikc "File" ==> "Transfer Purchases". The music has to be in the library to be synced to the ipod car stereo. Can you load songs onto your ipod car stereo Nano that you got from the computer?

I don;t think that was clear enough...it;s just that I;m getting an ipod car stereo Nano for Christmas and I was just wondering, do you HAVE to download the songs? Can;t you load the songs already stored on your computer onto it? I think you can, I heard you can but I;m just not sure!? Yes, you just go to file, add folder/file and search your computer for the songs and it will add them! its easy! yes but they have to be converted using iTunes, but the software is included. Yes save the song in a folder
