The competitors you are talking about have a handful of extra pixels and a really cheesy, low quality camera on the back, and they are more expensive than iPad. I purchased this product for my I pad, and it works. It feels sturdy and unlike the pogo stylus and others the tip is firm and feels more like a writing object than the others I have tried. I love the iPhone. I never really seen much of a need for one; but I love it now that I do have it.
