I got these for christmas along with my new otterbox for ipod 4th generation nano. I use them all the time and coordinate the colors with my outfit. But besides all this, whats the point? In order to use your otterbox for ipod 4th generation you have to take it out of the sock, adjust the sound, song, etc., then put it back in the sock and stuff it in your pocket or purse, where nobody can see it!!! I think it's just easier to keep it in your pocket.
Ok, it's smaller and has less stuff on it! So what! The touch platform allows more software flexibility, as in updates. I have every nano generation and to me this one is the best. It is for music, not a portable all in one thing. The clip is a great idea, no stupid cases and belt clips and strings and straps, yeah! If you are going to run, box, row a boat, ride a bike, rock climb get the new shuffle. for all the regular humans get this one. I hate cases. I love the design of apple products and
I recommend you save a little more and buy the new one. If you buy the new one you will be able to likely be able to get full upgrades up until IOS8.something, but if you get the 1st Gen they will likely stop upgrading at 6.something. Just look how many iOs devices aren't getting 4.3.
