Equally stupid would be buying an iPad of unknown quality for $300-$500? Apple is currently offering refurbished iPad 1 16GB Wifi at $349. This is with a new battery and new case and full warranty.Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $300 for a used iPad 1 from an unknown like Gazelle.

I don't use Ubuntu (I'm running Debian), but last time I looked at Ubuntu you could install/enable flash java ati/nvidia drivers etc without needing to touch the commandline. (And they are automatically configured ready for use). It has two fans that you can fix to different parts of the pad depending on your needs. Most laptops have spots that get much hotter than other spots. You can move the fans to concentrate on those areas.There isn't any noticeable noise. There was some noise in the beginning and I found out that it was coming from a sticker that was falling off from the fan. I took off the sticker and ever since then, the fans have been quiet. Not much to say about a cable. It works. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the rubbery sheath over the wires causes this cable to twist up and snarl really easily. But, it works. What else is there to say?

This product looked to be of good quality when it was received. But after 4 months of light use (a few times a week) the cable doesn't not provide a connection to sync devices. At least expected to get 1-2 years out of a piece that was not relatively cheap compared to other brands on Amazon.

I got tired of the limitation with smart phones and the closed system Apple sells. So I traded in my Droid smart phone for a regular phone, got a MIFI and the Transformer tablet. Very happy and now I can do a day of photography, download my photos to the tablet using the USB port or SD card reader and view, edit or store on a thumb drive so I can keep shooting!
