Why does my y adapter cable for ipod change tracks before the song is finished?

Something a little odd has been happening with my y adapter cable for ipod. For many of the songs on my y adapter cable for ipod, when there are about 20-30 seconds of the song left, the song stops and the subsequent queued track begins playing. I;m not exactly sure why this is happening. Of the tracks i have synced today, about half of them do this. So as I am listening to a song, when there are about 30 seconds of the song left, the song does not finish but instead goes to the next track. Can anyone help me fix this issue? may
